A frequently used agricultural crossing in northeastern Tom Green County is getting a $90,000 upgrade. County commissioners approved a contract with Delgado’s Construction to replace a culvert at Mullings Crossing near Veribest and Miles, helping keep the route open to large farm and ranch trucks. County Judge Lane Carter said the project will prevent the crossing from being downgraded because of the aging culvert. Commissioners also voted to keep the county’s burn ban in place until the area receives significant rainfall.
