The President of the University of Texas is praising the work to shut down a pro-Palestinian protest yesterday, saying the organizers violated school rules and policies. In a letter to students, Jay Hartzell apologized for the disruption but said that the campus would not be “occupied.” Hundreds packed the campus in Austin, trying to set up a tent camp like what has been seen at other schools. But, mixed in, were antisemitic chants by the activists. The president says that many of those who took part were not involved with the school. A total of 34-arrests were made by State Troopers.
