NASA says a meteor caused a bright fireball and loud booms seen and heard across north Houston Saturday afternoon. The meteor was traveling about 35,000 miles per hour before breaking apart roughly 29 miles above the area, creating a pressure wave. Debris reportedly fell near Willowbrook and Northgate Crossing, and one north Harris County family said a piece crashed through their roof. No injuries have been reported.
