New flood warning sirens are coming to parts of the Concho Valley following last year’s deadly flooding.
State officials say the sirens will be installed in flood-prone areas to alert residents when rising water or other emergencies threaten nearby communities.
The project is part of a new statewide program funded by the Texas Legislature, aimed at improving early warning systems and giving residents more time to move to safety.
Local leaders say the new sirens will add another layer of protection when severe weather strikes.
