Gov. Abbott Deploying National Guard In Anticipation of Anti-ICE Protests

Governor Greg Abbott is deploying National Guard troops to cities across Texas in anticipation of anti-ICE protests. Guard members arrived in San Antonio on Tuesday night, prior to planned protests downtown on Wednesday and in Travis Park on Saturday. Austin officials have been notified the National Guard will help state troopers handle planned protests this weekend, if necessary. No word yet as to which other cities the National Guard may be sent. Protests are planned for Saturday in more than two dozen Texas cities, including Houston.
