Over 5,000 voters took to the polls ahead of the May 3 election during its early voting period, according to a representative of the Tom Green County Elections Office. Early voting opened on Tuesday, April 22, and concluded on Tuesday, April 29, providing citizens an eight-day window to cast their ballots before the election. A total of 5,760 people voted during the early voting period. The representative stated that this number constitutes 8.6% of Tom Green County’s registered voters. With early voting now over and the May 3 election approaching, citizens will soon determine the outcome of several races and bond propositions.
