Two people were sent to the hospital after a “major vehicle accident” involving a semi-trailer truck and a car took place on FM 2288 on Wednesday morning. A Nixle alert issued by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9:16 a.m. on April 9 advised motorists to avoid an area in the 3000 block of North FM 2288 just south of Bison Trail due to a “major vehicle accident.” The office warned drivers that the roadway would be reduced to one lane and instructed them to seek an alternative route. Reports indicate it was an SUV that had collided with a semi truck. The truck had been carrying a petroleum tank. No leakage of petroleum was observed by responders, however.
