Demi Lovato is looking back at the Disney Channel years with a clearer view of why that era still means so much to fans.
Speaking backstage after their first headlining show at Madison Square Garden on April 24, Lovato said the current wave of Disney Channel nostalgia has helped bring some familiar names back into each other’s lives, including Selena Gomez and Joe Jonas.
Lovato said many fans who grew up watching stars like Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and Lovato are now in their 30s and eager to revisit that part of their childhood. For them, the renewed interest is not just about old songs or shows. It is also about shared memories from a specific pop culture moment.
The singer recently performed This Is Me with Joe Jonas during the opening night of the It’s Not That Deep Tour in Orlando. Gomez was also at that show and reunited with Lovato backstage.
Lovato is currently promoting the deluxe edition of It’s Not That Deep, which adds eight new songs to the pop-focused album.
