Teen Arrested Months After Deadly Big Spring Shooting-Murder Charge Filed

A 17‑year‑old from Big Spring has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the August 2025 death of a 20‑year‑old man. Big Spring police say officers were called August 1 to Northeast 6th and North Goliad streets, where they found Christopher Salazar lying in the roadway. Despite life‑saving efforts by first responders, Salazar died at the scene. After months of investigation, police developed probable cause to charge 17‑year‑old Josue A. Solis with murder. Solis was arrested in Austin on April 6 by Texas DPS and booked into the Howard County Jail with bond set at one million dollars. Police say the investigation is still active and encourage anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
