A longtime San Angelo furniture store is preparing to close its doors after more than 30 years in business. Haverty’s Furniture on Knickerbocker Road is expected to close at the end of June after the company decided not to renew the lease. General Manager Robert Grafton says the store opened in 1995 and has been a fixture in the community ever since. Customers can still order items from the regional warehouse for a limited time, with discounts already available. Employees will have the option to transfer to other Haverty’s locations. Grafton says he plans to retire after the store closes and thanked customers for their loyalty.
