An Odessa woman is facing a murder charge following a deadly fentanyl overdose earlier this year. Police say 36‑year‑old Shelbi Elder delivered fentanyl to 25‑year‑old Dayton Hector Lynn on January 27, and Lynn was later found dead at a home on Eisenhower Road. An autopsy confirmed fentanyl poisoning as the cause of death. Investigators obtained a warrant, and Elder was arrested April 2. She was booked into the Ector County Jail and later released on a 75‑thousand‑dollar bond. The case remains under review by prosecutors.
