San Angelo city leaders have taken a key step toward potentially bringing a data center to the area. The City Council approved an agreement allowing a company to lease about 347 acres of land, a requirement to apply for power through the state’s electric grid operator. Officials say the lease is a necessary step under new state law but does not guarantee the project will move forward. If finalized, the agreement could eventually lead to a major development in the Concho Valley.
