Britain has named Look Mum No Computer as its Eurovision Song Contest 2026 entry, with the BBC introducing the act as musician and inventor Sam Battle. Battle is best known online for building DIY electronic instruments and posting long-form YouTube projects that mix music with restoration and engineering.
Eurovision organizers have confirmed the 2026 contest will be held in Vienna, Austria, with two semifinals on May 12 and May 14 and the final on May 16. The European Broadcasting Union is also facing a reduced field this year after several broadcasters announced they will not take part while Israel remains in the competition.
Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain have all said they are boycotting. The withdrawals come after protests and ongoing debate around the contest’s neutrality rules and how they are applied.
Battle also runs This Museum Is Not Obsolete in Ramsgate, Kent, an interactive space focused on experimental and obsolete scientific and musical technology.
