The Wall Hawks will play for a state championship for the second time in school history. Wall survived a wild fourth quarter to knock out three-time defending state champion Gunter 28-25 and advance to the 3A D2 state final. Wall led 14-0 at halftime but Gunter stormed back and led 17-14 midway thru the fourth quarter, but the Hawks countered with 14 points in less than a minute to take a 28-17 lead. Wall improved to 15-0 and will play No. 4 Newton in the state championship game at 7 p.m. on Thursday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
