John David Baker, the former San Angelo Lake View QB, is the new offensive coordinator at Ole Miss. Baker is leaving East Carolina after two seasons and returning to Ole Miss. Baker previously was at Mississippi from 2021-23 as the tight ends coach and co-offensive coordinator. This past season, Baker’s East Carolina offense finished 15th in the nation in total offense. Baker has also coached at USC and North Texas in his career. Baker grew up in San Angelo and in 2008 as a senior QB, Baker accounted for nearly 3,000 total yards at Lake View and led the Chiefs to a playoff win before his playing career at Abilene Christian.
