The Lake View Chiefs won their first district game since the 2021 season finale as the Chiefs won big at Pecos 42-14 in a game that was delayed 2 ½ hours due to lightning. The game started at 9:30pm and ended at 11:30 when the game was called with 7:59 left in the fourth quarter after another lightning delay. Lake View stopped an 11-game district losing streak and is now 1-0 in district play. At 6-2 overall, this is Lake View’s best start since 1996. Lake View scored two touchdowns in the final 1:13 of the first half and led 21-7 at halftime. RB Izaiah Rios ran for 189 yards and touchdown. LV QB Chris Alvizo threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. The Chiefs visit Big Spring next Friday on Halloween.
