Property owners in Tom Green County whose homes or businesses were damaged in the July 4 flood may be eligible for a temporary property tax exemption. Applications for this exemption must be filed by Oct. 20.
To apply, property owners must submit Form 50-312 to the Tom Green County Appraisal District. Applications can be sent via email to info@tomgreencad.com or submitted in person at 2302 Pulliam St. It is important not to send the form directly to the state.
Eligible Property Types:
Residential or commercial improvements: This includes structures only; land is not included.
Business personal property: Must be used for income production and have a 2025 rendition filed.
Manufactured homes: Must be used as dwellings.
Application Process:
Applicants should download Form 50-312 and include supporting documentation such as photos of the damage, repair estimates and inspection reports. Forms and additional information are available at sanangeloflood.com. For further questions, the appraisal district can be reached at 325-658-5575.
Once processed, applicants will receive written notification of approval, modification or denial. If approved, the temporary exemption will expire on Jan. 1 of the first tax year the property is reappraised.
