Flash flooding hit San Angelo early this morning, with up to 14 inches of rain reported—over half the city’s annual rainfall—triggering a Flash Flood Emergency from the National Weather Service and causing dozens of water rescues overnight.
Rescue teams from San Angelo Fire, Police, DPS, local volunteer departments, and even the National Guard have been conducting door-to-door checks and evacuations; more than 100 rescues have already taken place.
A temporary shelter is open at PaulAnn Church (2531 Smith Blvd), with shuttle service via Concho Valley Transit. Another reception center is set up at the AgriLife Extension Office on US‑87 North.
Roads like Bell Street, FM 2105, US 87 south and others were impassable.
You can help by donating through the United Way of the Concho Valley’s Disaster Relief Fund or by calling 325‑949‑3716 to coordinate drop-offs—please don’t drop off clothes or food directly at PaulAnn to avoid overwhelming staff.
